While running any .swf Flash file in your browser you can see all the output generated by the "trace" flash functions in this sidebar component.
You *NEED* the flash player debug version to run this extension correctly, see http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
P.S. If you're running the new 9,0,28 Flash plugin probably you noticed this extension won't work anymore. Adobe changed something and the plugin doesn't read as previously the mm.cfg file so I'm investigating. (See http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/201/html/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/wwhelp.htm?context=LiveDocs_Book_Parts&file=logging_125_04.html for details). In the meanwhile you should tell the extension to point to this file: C:Documents and Settings{user}Application DataMacromediaFlash PlayerLogsflashlog.txt.
For mac osx it should be: username:Library:Preferences:Macromedia:Flash Player:Logs:flashlog.txt
Using this path the flash tracer works again.
